I was debating between four and five stars just because my desperado taco was lukewarm when they brought it out, but the food honestly was so good and the service was great so five stars it is definitely will be back!
From food, to service I'd say high mid. grade. Nothing was very impressive. I tried their "award winning" Desperado beef tacos. They were 2 deep fried tortillas, with 2 hard to find, but tasty small strips of beef, lettuce and a thin slice of avocado, served with a small cup of beans, no rice.
I have been dining at Desperados (on Greenville) since 1976, next year will be their 50th anniversary. Then till now the food and service has been great, thanks to Levy family! I sit in the Michael Grant Booth and have a Michael Grant Margarita and Guiso, every Thursday! Our waitress, Goudeloupe Gutierrez, has been a favorite for some time. She is always gracious, conscientious, dedicated and fast. On a scale of 1-10... she would be an 11.
Well known and highly regarded (locally and nationally) Tex-Mex food whose reputation preceeds it. Don't let the dodgy entry-area dissuade you; the food is good but it didn't knock me over. This place also has the feel of "This place is where deals are done." so come here for the experience.
I had an absolutely wonderful birthday celebration at this charming restaurant. From the moment we walked in, I was greeted with a warm ambiance and a lively atmosphere that set the perfect tone for the evening. Our waitress, Abigail, was exceptional; her cheerful demeanor and genuine attentiveness made me feel like the guest of honor throughout the night. The food was simply outstanding! Overall, the combination of excellent service, delicious food, and the joyful ambiance made my birthday celebration an unforgettable experience.
Great tex mex food. We had the shrimp quesadillas Acapulos and cheese enchiladas. The shrimp dish had plenty of shrimp, and the cheese enchiladas with con carne sauce were well seasoned and some of the best I have had in a long time. We also had house Margheritas, which were great, but served in a Tom Collins glass. We prefer the traditional Margherita glass.
The service was excellent! Great location and the staff was amazing! Salsa and chips were at our table as soon as we sat down. Wilibaldo “Willie” was so sweet. Our drink glasses were never empty. The food was delicious…please try the tacos! Thank you Wilibaldo for being a great host & congrats on 20 years!
